Readings [We are using Track 2 of the indicated readings.]
Lord God Almighty, in whose Name the founders of this country won liberty for themselves and for us, and lit the torch of freedom for nations then unborn: Grant that we and all the people of this land may have grace to maintain our liberties in righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Reflection
"Forgiving and being reconciled to our enemies or our loved ones are not about pretending that things are other than they are. It is not about patting one another on the back and turning a blind eye to the wrong. True reconciliation exposes the awfulness, the abuse, the hurt, the truth. It could even sometimes make things worse. It is a risky undertaking but in the end it is worthwhile, because in the end only an honest confrontation with reality can bring real healing. Superficial reconciliation can bring only superficial healing."
SUMMER SCHEDULE CHANGES Office Hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday - Thursday through Labor Day Sunday, June 28 - Sunday, September 6 - Sunday services at 8:00am/10:00am
GENERAL CONVENTION A lot happened during the recent General Convention of the Episcopal Church -- catch up via the Diocese of New York's hub HERE.
FIRST FRIDAY AT GRACE'S THRIFT SHOP On Friday, July 3, Grace's Thrift Shop will participate for the first time in Nyack Art Collective's monthly First Friday program. Come to the shop from 5-8:00pm and you'll have an opportunity to meet local artist Jamey Jackson and view a display of his works (and while you're there, check out some great Thrift Shop offerings as well.) Then continue your walking tour of Nyack and visit some of the other sites that will be featuring a wide array of works by local artists. Can't make it to Nyack on the 3rd? The Thrift Shop will continue to display Mr. Jackson's works throughout the month of July, and a portion of every sale will benefit the Thrift Shop and its support of Grace Church and other local nonprofits.
REBUILD THE CHURCHES FUND An interfaith Rebuild the Churches Fund has been established to collect donations from all over the world for the rebuilding of the churches burned recently in the south. CLICK HERE to find out more about the campaign. You can make a donation directly on line, or make a check to Christ Church Cathedral with "Rebuild the Churches Fund" in the memo line and drop it by the office or in the plate on Sundays. We'll take up a special collection in church on Sunday, July 12.
LET'S CELEBRATE SALLY!
After 35 years, Sally Seiler has retired from her job as South Nyack Village Clerk!
As a longtime member of Grace Church, Sally has done just about everything a person can do at this church...and done it well and enthusiastically. Sally is also one of Amazing Grace CIRCUS!'s original three Board Members since 2004. In her honor, The Sally Seiler Circus Camp Scholarship Fund is being established to help families in our local area make a camp experience possible for their children. What an AMAZING way to honor Sally's great work in this community.
Sally will be honored with a Community Party in Franklin Park, South Nyack,on July 26 and AGC! will be there to present details of the scholarship in her name and a card including all the names of those who have contributed to date.
If you're interested in participating in growing the scholarship fund in her honor, please make a check out to Amazing Grace CIRCUS! and memo: Sally Seiler Scholarship Fund - you can drop it by the church office, or in the plate on Sunday - where you'll find more details as well as offering envelopes to use for your donation. We hope this will make her soooo happy...and she deserves it!

IT'S NOT TOO LATE! Kids out of school? It's not too late to give them a summer-full of great circus experiences! Check out Amazing Grace Circus Camp, running right here at Grace Church through August 7. Amazing skills, confidence building, and FUN, with a fabulous Showcase of Talents at the end of each two-week session.
DIAPERS/FORMULA NEEDED A member of the community with several young disabled grandchildren could use some help with donations of Similac formula and diapers (size small and large). If you're able to help, donations can be left at the entry to the church on Sundays, or brought to the office.
Parting Thought
....Sail on, sail on Oh mighty Ship of State! To the Shores of Need past the Reefs of Greed through the Squalls of Hate. Sail on, sail on Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.!
I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean I love the country but I can't stand the scene. And I'm neither left or right I'm just staying home tonight, getting lost in that hopeless little screen. But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags that Time cannot decay, I'm junk but I'm still holding up this little wild bouquet: Democracy is coming to the U.S.A
