Reflection

Facing the Sacred Moments

The higher goal of spiritual living is not to amass a wealth of information, but to face sacred moments. ...

The meaning of the Sabbath is to celebrate time rather than space. Six days a week we live under the tyranny of things of space; on the Sabbath we try to become attuned to holiness in time. It is a day on which we are called upon the share in what is eternal in time, to turn from the results of creation to the mystery of creation; from the world of creation to the creation of the world.

HELP WANTED:

With our fall schedule around the corner, we're looking for someone who can work Sunday mornings as our kitchen coordinator -  making coffee,  setting up/monitoring/cleaning up post-service coffee hours, and supporting the volunteers who bring refreshments and act as hosts.  It is a paid position with hours of roughly 9:30am - 12:30pm.  If you are interested in learning more, please contact the office:  parishoffice@gracechurchnyack.org or 845-358-1297.

TABLECLOTHS NEED ATTENTION
The kitchen has been cleaned, straightened, and inventoried for the fall, and we have a bag filled with tablecloths that need to be cleaned and folded to be ready for fall events.  These are mostly the assorted floral "easy care" round clothes.  If you can take a few home for attention, we'd be grateful!  Stop by the office (M-TH 9-4, or let me know (845-358-1297/twoodcock@gracechurchnyack.org)
when you want to stop by and I'll leave some in the kitchen for you.

SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY

All too easy to miss a pledge payment ....or two

Why Not Consider E-pledging?

Through the Diocese of New York, we participate in a program that makes it possible for pledge payments to be made to us automatically, via an electronic transfer from your bank account.  You determine payment schedule, and we both receive records of payments.   It's a win-win situation all around.  If you'd like information, look for brochure in the narthex, or  email us and we'd be happy to send it out to you.

Parting Thought

Look To This Day

Kalidasa

Look to this day

For it is the very life of life.

In its brief course lie all

The verities and realities of your existence:

The glory of action,

The bliss of growth,

The splendour of beauty,

For yesterday is but a dream

And tomorrow is only a vision;

But today well lived makes

Every yesterday a dream of happiness,

And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day
