Collect of the DayAlmighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ's Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. "When we look at the ocean, we see that each wave has a beginning and an end. A wave can be compared with other waves, and we can call it more or less beautiful, higher or lower, longer lasting or less long lasting. But if we look more deeply, we see that a wave is made of water. While living the life of a wave, the wave also lives the life of water. It would be sad if the wave did not know that it is water. It would think, 'Some day I will have to die. This period of time is my life span, and when I arrive at the shore, I will return to nonbeing.'
These notions will cause the wave fear and anguish. A wave can be recognized by signs -- beginning or ending, high or low, beautiful or ugly. In the world of the wave, the world of relative truth, the wave feels happy as she swells, and she feels sad as she falls. She may think, 'I am high!' or 'I am low!' and develop superiority or inferiority complexes, but in the world of the water there are no signs, and when the wave touches her true nature -- which is water -- all of her complexes will cease, and she will transcend birth and death," Thich Nhat Hanh, The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and Liberation. New York: Broadway Books, 1999, pp. 124-125.

CHORAL EVENSONG THIS SUNDAY
Didn't we just celebrate Easter? Yes...but in our liturgical cycle of prayer the feast of the Annunciation (which falls on March 25) cannot occur in within Lent or the first eight days of Easter.
What is the Annunciation? It is the celebration of the Angel Gabriel's visit to Virgin Mary. While most will think, "Isn't that Christmas stuff?", the day of the feast does reflect the real world: March 25 is nine months from our celebration of the birth of Christ. What is Evensong? It is worship rooted in the ancient Jewish and monastic offices and has become a hallmark of Anglican and Episcopal traditions. Prayers and reading, hymns and music, silence and reflection - all suited for prayer at the end of the day. Evensong is a wonderful opportunity for those who may be absent from our morning services, want to to share a more formal (yet accessible) service with their children, or simply love the diversity of liturgy at Grace Church. All are welcome! For more information, please contact Interim Organist and Choirmaster, Brandon Beachamp at bbeachamp@gracechurchnyack.org or [church phone x13].

I Saw Her Dancing
Nothing moves in a straight line,
But in arcs, epicycles, spirals and gyres.
Nothing living grows in cubes, cones, or rhomboids,
But we take a little here and we give a little there,
And the wind blows right through us,
And blows the apples off the tree, and hangs a red kite suddenly there,
And a fox comes to bite the apples curiously,
And we change.
Or we die
And then change.
It is many as raindrops.
It is one as rain.
And we eat it, and it eats us.
And fullness is never,
And now.
