June/2014

Well Hello There!
It is my absolute pleasure to be typing to you this already sunny morning from my almost fully unpacked home in the upcountry of Maui....

Hi.

I had a very easy and quick trip over here and was met with a beautiful Lei and a big truck...and of course stopped at Costco before anything else...and honestly since then I've just been staring at the ocean and pinching myself.

I have one more day to acclimate, then off to Lumeria to see about this new job.  It seems I'm the only one who wanted the outdoor rooms...so there is one more step of ease for me.

These rooms are at the back of the property looking through jungle to the ocean...and the downside I guess is that I have to load up the table and all my goods and take them out there and back when I'm done on a cart...but they don't know I've perfected the art of moving...now do they?

I must admit I woke up at 2am yesterday and for the life of me could not convince myself that it wasn't five...darkness and all...but today....it seems I will be able to stop pinching myself and realize I'm actually here.

Funny thing about dreams that come true...when you are used to having them, it takes a moment for their corporeal-ness to steady.

You know?

So. I am living on a property with a dog and four cats and chickens and goats...and my dog will be joining the mix in 5 weeks.   There are two kids...to start...but they always seem to multiply by evening and people milling about and I tell you...I really feel at home.

I can't say I believe it fully yet....but my being, my heart....they feel quiet.

We are trying to get to my mind....but I'm also a generous host and will give her a little more time to sort this whole life change business out.

Everyone says it takes between 3-6 months to realize you really want to be here on the island.

Ha.  I'm going to do it in 1.  You just wait.

As soon as Max Weinberg gets here and we start paddle boarding...I'm pretty sure my mind will have made itself up.

So this is a very happy hello from Upcountry Maui...I'll have more photos next month and of course they will be on my blog and facebook much sooner than that if you are interested.  (By the way, I have a new website, please check it out and let me know what you think!)

But until then...happy June sweet friends!

Who Can You Trust

I want you to know there are people you can immediately trust if you need help body, mind or soul.

If you find that you need acupuncture that has a stronger energy medicine base...I recommend Jessica Schwarz. She is in the Greenwood area. She also practices Plant Spirit Medicine.  If that tickles your fancy, just make an appointment....you will love it.  She accepts most insurance as well.

If you want something more in the city I recommend Pam Alt.  She is on top of Queen Anne and has great hands. She incorporates a lot of Tui Na in her work. Also accepts insurance.

If you are on the East Side I recommend Nicole Parkhill.  She is on Park Lane in Kirkland and also accepts insurance. She is very clear and a great acupuncturist!

If you want straight Energy Medicine I recommend Mary Lee McRoberts.  I just had a session with her before I left and it frankly knocked my socks off.

I also recommend Sadee Whip...who has been a healer and friend of mine as long as I've been in Seattle, but she is moving to Olympia this week...so pass that on in case you know folks down there.  And if you want to make the drive...it's worth it.

If you need something from any of these ladies they are a great choice and you will be very happy.

I will be back in late September for your seasonal attunements....bringing with me the love of Mama Maui...but until then... I wish you abundant health!

You are the Placebo
Book Corner

I went through years of gobbling up all the "New Age" and "Spiritual Teaching" books out there...and then a few years ago...I just started reading Science Fiction.  It was just far more entertaining.

HOWEVER.

I was just turned onto this book...and I can't stop reading it.

I know that if I were to look at my brain I would see that maybe 20% of it is doing what I want it to do.  But 80% has a mind of it's own...and it can be fatalistic and drama filled...and scared and unconnected.

Without getting too much into the book..which I highly recommend reading...is the science as to why this happening, and how to change those odds and have better control of your thoughts.

If, like me, you find yourself getting in your own way far too often...this might be your next favorite read!

2 thumbs up from this gal!
I wanted to mention that I have a new website.  It's my favorite incarnation so far.  Feel free to check it out.  And I'd love to have some new testimonials if you feel up to sharing your experience of my work.  You can send them directly to me and I'll get them up....but please let me know if I can use your name or not.

I wish I could take an audio file and let you hear the symphony of birds (and that damn rooster) that are all around me.  The sun is warm, the ocean calm, the animals are now all fed....and for my last day off?  Well...every day might end up feeling like a day off...but today I think I'll sit with my book and read until I feel like filling up my senses with a view of the ocean or a butterfly...maybe go pick a banana right off the tree...and then back to reading.  Yeah.  I can do this.

With love from Maui,
e
