Funds Available for Seattle Neighborhood Festivals and Cultural Events

Application Deadline: October 23 at 11PM

Grassroots event organizers have an opportunity to apply for $1,200 grants to support 2014 festivals and community cultural projects happening in neighborhoods across Seattle through the Neighborhood & Community Arts funding program. Managed by the Office of Arts & Culture, this funding program helps Seattle's neighborhood art councils and community-based groups produce annual festivals and events that enhance the visibility of neighborhoods, promote cultural participation, celebrate diversity and build community through arts and culture. In 2013, the program funded 40 groups to support annual public festivals and events.

Wednesday November 13, 2013
Northwest Film Forum

We're switching it up a little for the final Business Technical Assistance event of the year. World-renowned Robert Spector will share his insights on the Customer Experience. We're expecting a crowd, so no lunch will be provided, as we're moving to the NW Film Forum auditorium. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Robert Spector has been helping companies create their customer service experiences for over 30 years.

Author of the business classic The Nordstrom Way: The Inside Story of America's Number One Customer Service Company, Robert is recognized worldwide as the ultimate authority on customer service and the Nordstrom Way.

Robert has been involved in customer service since the age of 13, when he first went to work in his mother and father's butcher shop in the farmers' market in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Working alongside his parents, he learned firsthand what it takes to take care of customers-and to keep them loyal.

Those lessons inspired another of his current books, The Mom & Pop Store, which features interviews with successful independent retailers from all over the world. Robert believes that the elements of world-class customer service are the same, whether they come from Spector's Meat Market, Nordstrom, or Amazon.com, the subject of his international bestseller Amazon.com: Get Big Fast.
