The event is open to our members and film-related non-members and meant to nurture connections between the Chamber and professionals on the Hill (and a few who reside elsewhere). The Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce's annual Clean Sweep is set for Saturday, June 1. Beginning at 10AM with breakfast & coffee provided by Starbucks and ending at noon with lunch provided by a local pizza place, community volunteers are encouraged to come out and join in on this yearly spring cleaning of the Hill. We'll all meet up at the Cal Anderson Park Shelter house. This year we'll be cleaning from 15th and Melrose, between Pike and Pine and on Broadway from Roy Street to Union.  The Northwest School Tops Out New $16 Million Building The Northwest School announced today it has topped out its new $15 million multipurpose facility at 401 East Pike Street on Capitol Hill. The school will join general contractor Exxel Pacific for an onsite celebration party, Thursday, May 23, 2013, 12:00 noon-1:30 PM. "We are thrilled to see the highest point of our building made visible: our rooftop sports field, 76 feet above ground," says Head of School Mike McGill. "It's exciting to know this time next year our students will be inside and on top of this building, benefitting from every square inch. The design is flexible and efficient, like a Swiss Army knife - it's several buildings in one." More

 Funding Available for Cap Hill Artists Applications open for projects in the visual, literary and media arts; deadline is July 17 The Office of Arts & Culture is accepting applications for the 2014 CityArtist Projects program that supports Seattle-based individual artists working in visual, literary (excluding playwriting) and media arts. Artists working in traditional/ethnic and multidisciplinary projects that incorporate one of these primary performing arts disciplines may also apply. Applicants may request up to $8,000 to support projects in 2014. Applications are due Wednesday, July 17. More
