2013 Faley Games

Last Friday, Servite students volunteered at the 28th Annual, Kathleen E. Faley Memorial Special Games. This amazing event was held at CSUF and students came from 21 different schools to volunteer and show their support for these very special athletes.  "The event started as a class project with Dan and Kathleen Faley," said Mary Faley.  "It started with 90 athletes and has grown to over 2500. The Servite guys get as much out of the event as the athletes do."  At Servite each priory had a different responsibility, such as dispersing food, water, or playing games with the athletes and doing anything to make the day a special one for these deserving athletes.

"This is my fourth year working it and it gets better every year," said Senior Ryan Shanks.  "Seeing the joy on the athlete's faces and making the day special for them is the number one priority for me."

Check out the video below for a recap of the games and interviews from students and members of the Servite community.

Attention Seniors!
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and advancement into the college ranks! We would like to begin a new tradition at Servite and encourage you to wear a sweatshirt from your chosen college to the Senior Day of Reflection (May 28th). We will take this opportunity to photograph the senior class and give you the chance to share your selected school with your classmates.

We will send out an additional reminder closer to the event but wanted to give you a heads up to ensure you have time to get sweatshirts.
Make sure to buy one soon, if you don't already have it!

Attention Senior Parents
Mr. Clapp and Ms. Recknor have asked all seniors to clean up their Naviance account by updating their acceptances, denials, deferrals, and school of attendance as well as to complete the Senior Graduation Survey under the About Me tab.  Please make sure your son has done this as we are collecting attendance and merit/honors data by school for the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 28th  and without this your son's information will be incomplete and not included in the program.  WE MUST HAVE THIS INFORMATION BY FRIDAY, MAY 10th.  Please contact counseling if you have any questions and thank you for your support.

Key Club
The Key Club would like to thank everyone who donated to Operation of Hope. Through our efforts we have been able to sponsor 2 surgeries and hundreds of children will benefit from the blankets and stuffed animals. We are honored to say that the Servite Community has answered the Call of Necessity of the Other by reaching out to these children in need. A special thank you to the John Shaw, Stone Peterson,  Key Club members for their hard work and dedication,  and Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Habra & St. Martin de Porres in Yorba Linda for all of the blankets they donated.
