Greetings!

HUGE Congratulations to Friarbots Team 3309

The Friarbots finished their season yesterday in Las Vegas and the students have a lot to be proud of!

Some highlights from Vegas this weekend:
  • Ranked 5th out of 47 after qualification rounds - Friarbots' first ever finish in the elite top 8
  • Helped set the match high score for the weekend (188)
  • Won their fourth match of the competition by themselves - one robot vs. three
  • Highest total climbing points of any robot in Vegas (330 alliance climb points)
  • Given the Innovation in Control Award (sponsored by Rockwell Automation), which "celebrates an innovative control system or application of control components - electrical, mechanical, or software - to provide unique machine functions."
  • Finished as semi-finalists (lost to #1 alliance and eventual champs)

After their LA Regional our very own JAMES CARR was honored with a scholarship from the Southern California Regional Robotics Forum - one of three scholarships given out to LA region graduating seniors entering the fields of STEM.

Dads of Servite Evening of Recollection

Don't miss the opportunity to relax and decompress with other Servite dads while deepening your faith.

On Wednesday, April 10, Servite will be hosting a "Dads of Servite Evening of Recollection" from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Fr. Luke Mata will preach two meditations and there will be a brief layperson's talk. The evening will include the opportunity for confession as well as individual prayer, reflection, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. This is an opportunity for all fathers to grow in their faith and develop tools to meet the challenges of forming our young men into solid faith-filled leaders. We hope to see you there!

Servite and Your Son's Education Costs

Each year, there is a difference between what it costs to educate each student and the amount charged for tuition. For the 2013-14 academic year, the actual cost per student is $15,450; tuition is $13,400. The difference is $2,050.

To help Servite maintain excellent academic, formation, spiritual, athletic and artistic programs, and to provide competitive salaries and benefits for our outstanding faculty, we encourage families able to pay the total cost of education for their sons to do so. This includes making two separate payments - one for tuition of $13,400, and a tax-deductible donation amount of $2,050. (The IRS considers any amount paid above stated tuition and fees a tax-deductible donation.)

Servite depends on tuition for approximately 80% of its revenue. Donations, fundraising events and fees make up the difference. Please make a lasting difference in your son's education by paying the 'Total Cost of Education' amount on your 2013-14 Tuition Option form.

Tuition contracts are due to the Business Office by April 30. Go here to view the contracts.
