Servite Junior, Andre Orate, wins Catholic Charities Poster Contest
Each year, Catholic Charities of Orange County in partnership with Catholic Schools co-sponsors a poster contest that reflects a message. This year, the contest was based on the Beatitude "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." Students in the Diocese have the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic ability and foster an awareness of charity in our midst.
This year, our very own Andre Orate '14 has won with the poster contest!
The Grand Prize for the First Place Poster Contest Winner includes an Award of Merit for outstanding artistic talent, an invitation to the student and the parents, as well as the student's teacher or principal to attend Mardi Gras 2013 on February 9, 2013 as distinguished guests of Catholic Charities. The winner and the school will receive a framed reproduced copy of the winning entry.
The final winning poster contest entry will be used throughout the year by Catholic Charities of Orange County to spotlight the talent of the children in our schools and the contest theme.
Congratulations Andre! CREDO!

Attention: Servite Fathers - Join us for a night out - we need you!
Thursday, February 21st - Heroes Bar & Grill
The Gala is looking for a male perspective! What is the coolest auction prize you can think of? What prizes do you think would be most popular with the Servite community? We need to know and we want your help! We need Servite dads and alumni to help brainstorm about prizes we should try and get for the upcoming Gala, April 27. Most of our committees are made up of women, but we want to hear from the dads and men of Servite! We are looking for ideas and I'll feed you to get them!
Please come to a meeting at Heroes Bar & Grill at 125 W. Santa Fe in downtown Fullerton on Thursday, February 21 at 6pm and bring ideas about what kind of prizes and activities YOU want to see at Servite fundraisers! If you go to other events and you have ideas to share we want to hear them! We promise plenty of refreshments so please give us a little of your time and your great ideas! If you cannot make the meeting but still want to contribute please e-mail Tracey Irving, at tirving@servitehs.org. This is your chance to speak up! Thank You! Mark your calendars and come join us for a drink! Consider it a dads' night out!

The Student's Perspective
By: Daniel Pezzullo '14 - Communications Intern
Priory Leadership Council: Mid-Year Summit
The Priory Leadership Council joined by PAL and for the first year Trinity Corporation held their Mid-Year Summit on Friday, January 17. Student leaders met at St. Julianna's for a day full of debriefing on the first semester and a day to think of new strategies for effective leadership skills in the upcoming semester. Student's worked hard to come up with new ideas and ways to keep the student body interested in the Priory program. Many examples of how to be good leaders were given to the students, a quote that stood out was by Mr. Confer who said "Success comes after we commit ourselves to Excellence." Student's watched a leadership video by Patrick Awuah on how important leaders affect our world. (click here to watch) From there Student's broke out into eight groups and then had the opportunity to give feedback on projects, events, service projects, and planning forms. The students continued in their groups (broken up into priories) and alternated through stations such as Kickball, Basketball Free throw Challenge, and Lunch. The day ended in prayer and by Coach Toner and Mr. Weir discussing the importance of Grade Level Knowledge.
Career Day
Servite Alumni took over our campus on February 5th for our annual Career Day. On Career Day, we were exposed to the different career's present in our Servite Community. When asked about Career Day, Nathan Merrick (12) said "I was really surprised on how large of a network Servite really has; it's crazy to know that there is pretty much an alum in every field possible." We rotated from three sessions including: Brain neurosurgeon, Teaching/Coaching, Business Operations, Multi-Media Marketing, Real Estate, Music Industry, Public Relations, Advertising/Marketing, Ministries/Vocations, Law Enforcement, Graphic Design, Entrepreneurship, and many more! A special thank you to all the Alumni who participated and Mr. John Martin '87 for planning such a successful and beneficial day for us.

Fan Gear Store, The Fresh Kitchen & Trinity Corporation
Campus Store
This week the Campus Store is giving a shout out to all of our Servite moms. We have a very special new jewelry concept from Lisa Parcells, our very own lucky charm lady. We will be offering your choice of our Servite exclusive gold or silver finished loop necklaces with your choice of a clip on, custom glass charm together for a special value of $39. Separately, these two items would retail for $59. Just for you, our Servite moms.
Fresh Kitchen
The Kitchen staff is proud to support "no meat Fridays" with very special vegetarian and meatless menu choices made from scratch every Friday during Lent. You can count on our Kitchen team to bring our school community healthy, creative dishes that help our young men keep faith with this simple Lenten tradition. Look for the menu daily on the Servite website.
Trinity Corporation
Trinity Corp Human Resources is working diligently with student interns and their families to provide communication and job sites for interns who still need to start or complete their hours for this school year. We want to remind all intern families that the deadline to complete hours is the end of May 2013. Seniors who do not complete their hours will not receive their diplomas at graduation. Financial aid is awarded to continuing students based in part on their success or failure in completing hours. This is a serious reminder with serious consequences. If you have any questions or concerns contact Troy Kassien, VP Operations at troy.kassien@servitehs.org or Sue Hamrock, Director of Trinity Corp Leadership at shamrock@servitehs.org.
