Collectible Art Books
Last week we featured some new sculpture at the gallery. If you missed the last newsletter, check it out here: newsletter or visit our website to view the new sculpture. This week we look at a vintage lithography catalogue of Pierre-August Renoir.

Les Lithographies de Renoir
by Claude Roger-Marx

This is the catalog raisonne of Pierre-Auguste Renoir's lithographs compiled by Claude Roger-Marx in 1951.

Roger-Marx was a well known writer and art critic who became particularly active in the Paris arts scene after the Second World War. He followed in his father's footsteps (Roger Marx) who was also an art critic, as well as a passionate art promoter and friend of Renoir.

This edition was limited to 3000 copies, each with 35 of Renoir's lithographs reproduced. The printing was done, again, by Mourlot Studios. Five of the lithographs are reproduced in colour.

The gallery has two versions of the book, both in excellent condition. #2611 is shown in the top picture. #2173 is also available and comes in mint condition, still in its original brown paper packaging. Contact the gallery for more information.
