We had a interesting week in our framing department! A client brought in two old harpoons in need of conservation. A few pieces were broken, the sinew was old and brittle. Our client wanted them repaired and protected from further damage.

 

We realized that after repair, these harpoons should be framed so they could be properly displayed while protected from further deterioration. We consulted with the client, chose a painting from the gallery and arranged a composition in a shadow box frame to display the harpoons.

 

Everyone was pleased with the result - what a great way to showcase two special objects!
