Quotations

"It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person kind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely."

-
Leo Buscaglia

"We should give as we would receive, cheerfully, quickly, and without hesitation; for there is no grace in a benefit that sticks to the fingers."

-Seneca, Roman statesman, dramatist and Stoic philosopher

"You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Not only is it summer in RI, it now feels like summer.

School is out, the kids are playing, and it's easy to be distracted by the kids, the good weather, and summer activities.  So, enjoy it.

Tomorrow is the start of the long 4th of July weekend, not to mention so many people in the USA take the first two weeks of July for vacation.

While enjoying, if you need to get things done that have yet to be done, perhaps you might get up an hour earlier. Find the compromise that works for you so you can enjoy the summer.

Be sure to check out the winter rentals in St John USVI. NOW is the time to reserve. We've been going for over 30 years. St John is magical and you'll understand only if you go and experience it.

We have two new workbooks that will be available soon on the website.  Watch for them. Keep watching, I expect they will be available before the next letter.

While the name of this newsletter is SHIPP'S LOG, the important LOG is yours.  How does it read? Is it an exciting adventure? Or is it one day like the next, sitting at anchor, not doing much of anything new, different, or exciting?  It's your LOG, and it's up to you. If it's boring, then do something!

BEST,

Tell'em NOW

"To the world you may be one,
But to one you may be the world."

Who is a role model for you? Who helps you? Who do you rely on?

We all have people in our lives we appreciate and whose wisdom has helped us over the years. Yet, do they know the value they bring to you?

Tell'em now. Tell'em how they have helped you and how much you appreciate it.

Too often we don't provide the feedback. Yet, it's appreciated, and it spurs the people on to help more and to continue their good works.

Why wait? Now is the time to thank them, to share with them how they have helped you.

No, don't wait until a person's final moments on earth. Do it then, but also do it now.  Is it better to have someone know how much you appreciate them and their guidance? Wouldn't you want to know and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment?

To know you have helped is to know you have not made the effort in vain. It's to know you have made a difference and accomplished something of value to another. In the telling, you will also feel great. You'll have repaid the favor of their assistance.

It's not just someone you love, it can be the boss who guides you, the co worker that helps you when you're down, or the unknown person who reaches out and provides support.

This past week I had two readers reach out to me to thank me. It helps me to realize this newsletter helps others, and that makes it worthwhile. It's always worthwhile when you know you are helping others.

Yes, Tell'em.  Yes, someone may Tell you also.  Let's hope so.
