TOP OF THE WEEK TO YOU!
(by realwired! CEO, Brenda Dohring Hicks)

Brenda Dohring Hicks

Top of the Week to You! is designed to offer the inside scoop and latest of what's important in the world of technology as it relates to the commercial real estate industry.

Merry Christmas & A Big Thank You

Christmas is just around the corner and I'm sending best wishes that you enjoy the holiday with dear friends and family creating lasting memories!

As I write my final message for 2013 and look forward to speaking with you again in January, I am once again reminded how lucky I am to have all of you as my readers. You are why I write this column week after week, year after year.  Thanks to all of you!

Most of us are finishing 2013 recognizing that it was one of mixed results for our industry, but seemingly improving. Only time will tell, but I know that my readers will remain successful by being smart and recognizing that positive change happens the quickest when there are obstacles to face.

As we share this holiday time, I hope you take the time to discuss with your co-workers, business partners, friends and family alike the personal accomplishments reached and the difference your work means in the scheme of things. At RealWired!, we are proud of our efforts to assist others on learning how  to use good processes and technology to streamline the real estate process, whatever that process may be; a lease, a construction project, a sale, property management, loan processing, and more. Once again I give thanks to my staff and customers for knowing that change is worthwhile, and that it takes a collaborative effort to get great results. The fact that you, think of us when you need the products and services we offer gives us great reward for the efforts we put forth.

Many of you have shared with me your stories of incorporating technology solutions that have allowed you to streamline business processes, be more efficient and give better service. Yes, you recognize that through the proper use of technology, service is improved and everyone is better off! You've used us as a trusted source and provider for some of your decisions and we couldn't be more pleased about that!

You've proven that the technology needs to be as transparent as possible because it's all about the people. People do it all. People do the heavy lifting of strategic thinking, product selection, implementation and training. Smart people like you recognize that systems or tools shouldn't be something you need to "think" about. They are there as support to your personal efforts.

It's been a great year. It's time to enjoy the season and welcome 2014 with great energy and commitment.

One of the real joys this holiday season is the opportunity to say thank you and wish you the very best for the new year.  Thanks for letting me into your "office" each week!    Brenda
