Dear Friend,
I'm so proud to have celebrated my fifth year as Executive Director of CCHS this past September!
It has been a real honor to get to know and work with so many people who care about animals and support our mission with truly remarkable generosity. Thank you all for helping us reach our goals and make life better for animals.
Although 2012 is winding down, we're winding UP for a few busy weeks at CCHS! Coming up, we have the Holiday Markets, Paw-Traits with Santa, and the 3rd Annual $50 Art Show to look forward to. Read on for details on all these events and more.

Calling All Artists and Art Lovers!

 Artists Here's a chance to have your art on display support CCHS at the same time. And receive 25% off art supplies too!
The Art Coop in Lincoln Square is asking artists to donate one or two of their pieces to the 3rd Annual $50 Art Show to benefit the Champaign County Humane Society.
From the Art Coop: "We realize that your work is worth more that $50, and appreciate your willingness to donate it. In return, we'll treat you to a fabulous opening party and give you a coupon for 25% off any one time purchase in our store, including sale and specially priced items. Your work will be seen by hundreds of other artists and locals, and countless homeless cats and dogs will be indebted to you forever."
The work should be an original, small, two dimensional, in any media, and ready to hang. All works will be sold for $50 and 100% of the proceeds will go to CCHS. Perfect pets for adoption

Ebie
As you can see, Ebie is still beautiful at 11 years old. She is hoping for a relatively quiet home, but would do just fine if there are other pets in the house.
Angel
Angel is an 8 year-old female beagle mix. She was relinquished to CCHS after her owner went into a nursing home. Angel is charming and cheerful, and appears to be housetrained!

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program for Dogs

Thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA and the cooperation of several local veterinarians, CCHS and the Central Illinois Animal Welfare Coalition are assisting low income dog owners in obtaining sterilization surgery for just $50.
The $50 voucher entitles qualified dog owners living in Champaign and Douglas County to receive the following services at participating veterinary clinics:
- Pre-Surgical exam
- Sterilization surgery (spay for females, neuter for males)
- DAPPL vaccination (protects against distemper, parvovirus, and other diseases)
- Rabies vaccination
- Microchip identification
- Initial flea treatment
The typical cost of these services is $250 or more.
