Gemunder Center Iran Task Force Brief: Questions About Iran Framework Agreement 

 

Last month JINSA's Gemunder Center Iran Task Force released a report detailing concerns about Iran's nuclear program that need to be resolved to ensure an acceptable final deal. With the April 2 announcement of a framework for a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA), it is now important to assess whether these concerns have been addressed.

Iran-P5+1 Framework Agreement: Some Answers, More Questions 

 

On Monday, April 13, JINSA's Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy hosted a panel event to assess the "Framework Agreement" announced by Iran and members of the P5+1 on April 2, and to roll out its latest report and brief highlighting issues that must still be resolved for any deal to prevent a nuclear weapons-capable Iran. The event featured the co-chair of the Gemunder Center's Iran Task Force Ambassador Eric Edelman, Gemunder Center Iran Task Force members John Hannah and Dr. Ray Takeyh, and Gemunder Center Associate Director Jonathan Ruhe.

JINSA CEO Makovsky in the Weekly Standard

 

Is President Barack Obama right that the so-called framework nuclear agreement with Iran, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) announced on April 2, will "cut off every pathway Iran could take to develop a nuclear weapon"? Some will assess the truth of his statement by crunching the centrifuge and uranium stockpile numbers. However vital such analysis will be, it is important not to lose sight of the nuke for the centrifuges.

JINSA Visits USMC Recruit Depot Parris Island

From April 15-17, JINSA leaders had the exclusive opportunity to visit the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, SC, where they "Make Marines." 
JINSA organizes base visits as part of our outreach efforts to make sure our supporters understand the work our servicemen and women are doing to keep us safe and to bring this knowledge back to their communities to be advocates for a strong U.S. military. In addition, these base visits help our military understand the issues that are important to the JINSA community.

Law of War Expert Professor Geoffrey Corn Joins JINSA Gemunder Center as Senior Advisor

On April 30, JINSA announced that Professor Geoffrey Corn, USA (ret.) will join the Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy as a Senior Advisor. Professor Corn was formerly the Army's senior law of war expert in the Office of the Judge Advocate General and Chief of the Law of War Branch in the International Law Division.

On April 22, JINSA Gemunder Center Senior Advisor and Iran Task Force member Stephen Rademaker testified before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on the emerging nuclear agreement with Iran.
