Young Leadership Council Hosts Eric Trager, Expert on Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood
The first JINSA Young Leadership Council (YLC) event of 2013 took place the evening of February 21. A cocktail reception was followed by a compelling discussion of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood led by Eric Trager, the Next Generation Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. JINSA YLC members were given a firsthand perspective of the Islamist organization and Egypt's revolution as an ongoing struggle against western influence and values.

IDF Brigadier General Eliezer Ben Meir Addresses NY Cabinet BG Ben Meir discussed the strategic environment surrounding Israel, specifically recent developments concerning Syria, Iran, Gaza and Lebanon. Currently, BG Meir is the Israel Defense Intelligence Attaché to the U.S. and Canada. He will soon assume his new assignment as Israel Defense Intelligence Chief of Staff upon his return to Israel. Previously, BG Ben Meir has served in numerous roles in the Intelligence Corps, both in the field and in analysis positions, mostly in areas concerning Iran, Hezbollah, counter-terrorism, and technology.

Chief Chris Kyle, USN (ret.) was a true American hero. He received JINSA's 2005 Grateful Nation Award on behalf of the U.S. Special Operations Command. He was 38 years old. Chief Kyle, a U.S. Navy SEAL sniper, served four combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and elsewhere. For bravery in battle, he was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation.
