Leader Specific and Outdoor Training



These courses over the next 60 days offer basic outdoor training that you have to have in order to take your pack or your Webelos Den camping, or the basic knowledge you need to serve in a specific adult leadership position. Training Beyond the Basics; Be a Better Leader



It may be hot now, but Autumn is just around the corner and so is Wood Badge - the top training course for adult leaders. It's for new and experienced Scouters alike. Past participants rave, saying it "made me a better leader," it "helped me turn my troop around," and it's "one of the best training experiences I have had." Catholic Committee On Scouting Austin Dioces
Catholic Scout Day Next Week



The Diocese of Austin's Catholic Committee on Scouting invites youth and adults to attend the Catholic Scout Day on July 23 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. There is a patch program for youth and adults may receive training to lead religious emblem classes.

Congratulations and thanks to David Parkhill and Brian Archimbaud, recipients in our council of the BSA's Veteran Award. The award recognizes years of service as a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America. David has completed 75 years of service and Brian has completed 60 years. 

Scout Shop Job Opening



Our Scout Shop is looking for another awesome team member! Candidates must:
  • be a high school graduate
  • have an outgoing, sales-oriented personality
  • have an eye for detail and no fear of computers
  • be willing to wear the BSA uniform (one furnished) while on duty
Knowledge of Scouting is essential. This position is approximately 25 hours per week including some Saturdays on a rotating basis with a starting pay of $12/hour. Job requires frequent standing, walking, and the ability to lift cartons weighing up to 40 pounds. Bilingual, ASL or sewing skills a plus!
