"Out of This World" STEAM Camp



There is still room for Scouts in 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades to sign up for our best-in-class STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) day camp. 4 sessions at Anderson High School's Applied Technology Center. This year's theme is life on Mars!

Summer Police Explorer Academy



Boy Scouts can earn up to 5 merit badges and learn about a career in law enforcement at the Travis County Constables Office Pct. 2 Explorers Police Academy this June. Registration is still open; program begins June 1.

Youth Protection logo
Required Training for Camp



Texas law says completing BSA's online youth protection training isn't enough if you're going to attend, volunteer or work at our summer camp or winter camp. Instead, you have to take a classroom-based course. It's good for 2 years, just like the online version.

Youth Protection Symposium Recap



Our council held its annual Youth Protection Symposium in April. It's an event designed to support Unit Youth Protection Champions and help units without a champion to recruit one. The program is now being used as an example for other councils across the country.

Philmont
2017 Council Contingent Deadline Extension



Units now have until June 15 to reserve space in our council's 2017 contingent to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The contingent concept organizes travel and registration to make your Philmont trek as low-maintenance as possible.

PowderHorn Makes High Adventure Possible



Super-charge your high adventure program and experience first-hand all the awesome activities Scout-friendly groups are ready to help you conduct for your unit. Adults and older youth leaders 14 and up can attend this year's course September 9-11 and 23-25. Sign-up today as the course is limited to the first 56 participants! 2017 National Jamboree



The National Scout Jamboree offers such extreme activities as zip lines, mountain biking, climbing, skateboarding, and mountain boarding... all at the Summit National High Adventure Base in West Virginia. Our council will coordinate all the travel details for our Boy Scouts and Venturers who sign up, including a tour of Washington, D.C.!

Want To Camp at Fort Hood?



Fort Hood offers two camps for free use by any BSA unit: Camp Arrowhead and Camp Finlayson. However, there are some procedures you have to follow in order to use these properties.
