Commissioner Training

Anyone who wants to improve the service we provide to units across their district is invited to Unit Commissioner Basic Training on April 23. This program helps orient all new Unit Commissioners or prospective Unit Commissioners to unit service. Course participant evaluations continually rate this program high due to the experienced presenters and the opportunity to interact with fellow Commissioners from around our council!

2017 National Jamboree

The National Scout Jamboree offers such extreme activities as zip lines, mountain biking, climbing, skateboarding, and mountain boarding... all at the Summit National High Adventure Base in West Virginia. Our council will coordinate all the travel details for our Boy Scouts and Venturers who sign up, including a tour of Washington, D.C.!

2017 Council Contingent Deadline Extension

Units now have until April 29 to reserve space in our council's 2017 contingent to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The contingent concept organizes travel and registration to make your Philmont trek as low-maintenance as possible.

Summer Police Explorer Academy

Boy Scouts can earn up to 5 merit badges and learn about a career in law enforcement at the Travis County Constables Office Pct. 2 Explorers Police Academy this June. Registration ends May 6; program begins June 1.

"Out of This World" STEAM Camp

Our best-in-class STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) day camp returns for 4 sessions at Anderson High School's Applied Technology Center, with programs for youth up to 9th grade. This year's theme is life on Mars!

National Sea Scouting Honor

Congratulations to Ship 911 Sea Scout Rachel West, named the 2016-2017 National Sea Scout Boatswain by the National Sea Scout Committee! Rachel is a graduate of the SEAL and NAYLE programs. Next fall she will be a student at the University of Texas Austin where she will study Biology.
