Several courses over the next few weeks offering either the basic "rules of the road" training that you need to be a Cubmaster, Den Leader, or Pack Committee member... or the basic outdoor training that you have to have in order to take your pack or your Webelos Den camping.

2nd Annual Youth Protection Symposium



Adult volunteers, parents, and Unit Youth Protection Champions should attend our second annual Youth Protection Symposium, April 9, 10am-Noon at the Fickett Center. Brought to you in cooperation with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, this FREE program will deliver key information on keeping kids safe on social media, combating underage drinking, and more. Special guests include Judge and Texas Department of Family Protective Services Commissioner, John J. Specia, Jr., and KVUE News Anchor Terri Gruca.

Youth Protection Training (for camp)



Adults attending or working camps of 4 or more days must be current in the classroom-based Youth Protection Training course. This is different from the online version, and is state law - not a BSA rule. The next course is March 23.

Summer Fun at 2016 Day Camp



11 different locations at different times, all to help Cub Scouts have fun outside! Traditional outdoor activities like archery and bb guns, plus learning about other cultures through special games and food. Camp prices are a big value, thanks to the volunteers who make the program happen!

Our best-in-class STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) day camp returns for 4 sessions at Anderson High School's Applied Technology Center. This year's theme is life on Mars!

A day of rocketry, catapults, and chemical reactions - just for Cub Scouts! Happening at the Fickett Center from 9am-3pm on April 23.

Earn Adventures, Meet Real "Local Heroes"



Your Scouts can earn Adventures Belt Loops, take part in fun STEM activities, and meet police officers, firefighters, paramedics and other first responders who keep us safe. Local Heroes Family Fun Day on May 14 at the Austin Fire/Police/EMS Training Academy.

Webelos-only Summer Fun!



Attend a Webelos-only adventure camp, Webelos Extreme, held at Lost Pines Scout Reservation! Get a taste of the fun you will experience in Boy Scouts including the waterfront, archery range, rifle range, and the tallest freestanding climbing/rappelling tower in Texas.

Passing on the "Lion" Pilot



Our council's volunteer leadership has decided not to have us participate in BSA's Lion Cub Scout pilot program. The Board want us to focus on improving service to our Cub Scout Packs as they currently exist, and evaluate the Lion program at a later date.
