Summer Tea This Saturday!
The Women of Warner are welcome to a Summer Tea on Saturday, July 23 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm in the Social Hall. Don your bonnets, fetch your teacup and saucer and join us for a delightful afternoon of tea, music, delectable edibles and fellowship. RSVP to Sue Burns by Friday, July 12.
Try Outdoor Worship!
Temple Emanuel Warner's long tradition of summertime outdoor worship services at the Temple Emanuel Meditation Garden continues in 2016 at 8:30 am in July and August. Bring a friend or neighbor and try a different worship experience this summer.  Get closer to God in this beautiful outdoor setting.  Hear the birds and feel the cool morning breezes.  Music is provided by guitar and voices and holy communion is shared.  In case of rain, the service will be held in the Warner library.  Temple Emanuel is just down the street from Warner at 10101 Connecticut Avenue.  Click here for directions.
It's That Time Of Year!
MOVING FURNITURE It's summertime at WMPC and that means moving furniture! Please come Sunday to the LCYC classrooms next Sunday, July 31, at 10:00 am. We will be rearranging furniture for floor polishing. Some pieces will be moved to the Social Hall stage. Eight volunteers could get it finished in about 30 minutes. Then on Thursday, August 4 at 7:00 pm we need a team to return the furniture to its places. Please let June Eakin know if you can come to either or both!
Make Some Music at Warner This Summer!
SUMMER SINGERS
Everyone is invited to drop in on the Summer Singers - Warner's pickup choir that will sing for Sunday services 4 times this summer, on July 31 and August 14. We will sing easy anthems that can be rehearsed at the 10:30 warm-up time each week.  All are welcome - especially if you have not been a regular choir member!  Come join the fun and fellowship!

Do you have a musical talent that you'd like to share this summer?  If you'd like to serve as a vocal or instrumental soloist during a service this summer, please contact Peter Smeallie.
Eight Lessons From One Of Our Favorite Ministers
Did you know that in addition to being an American TV personality, puppeteer, educator, activist, composer, songwriter, and author, Fred Rogers was an ordained Presbyterian Minister?  In fact, he was initially educated to be a minister.  Rogers was displeased with the way television addressed children and made an effort to change this when he began to write for and perform on local Pittsburgh-area shows dedicated to youth.  Over the course of three decades on television, Fred Rogers became an icon of American children's entertainment and education.  He taught many valuable lessons over the years that are still hold true even as we became adults.  Check out Eight Great Lessons from Mr. Rogers.

Upcoming Events
We are taking a summer hiatus from assigned Fellowship Teams for most of July, all of August and the first part of September and rely on volunteers.  If you are willing to help with the light receptions during this time, please sign up. The sign up sheet may be found on the Fellowship bulletin board outside the church office.

Opportunities abound! Please check the flower chart (opening on July 31) and the usher chart to see where YOU can help to make our summer worship services run smoothly.  Experienced ushers will help inexperienced volunteers. Youth are also encouraged to volunteer!  Thank you to all who already help and to those who are moved by the Spirit to try something new.

New cards in the pew rack describe ways to support Warner including electronic giving. Please feel free to place that card in the offering plate to signify your financial support of the mission of the church.

HUNGRY BARREL
Show your love for the less fortunate of the area by bringing food for the "For I Was Hungry" barrel this Sunday. The MUM (Mid County United Ministries) pantry is in particular need of cereal, 1 lb. bags of rice and cans of black beans.

STEPHEN MINISTRY When is the time we need God's love the most? Of course, we need that love every second of every day. But there are times when His love is especially precious to us: when we are seriously ill, or we lose a loved one, or life becomes to confusing that we do not know where to turn, or when depression sets in. Our congregation has trained lay people, Stephen Ministers, who offer a ministry of Christian caring. To find out more about Stephen Ministry, please speak to Barbara Jaquette or Rev. Hill.
