| Greetings!
The other day there was a giant green worm on my tomato plant - bigger than my thumb, and it had a giant horn. It was so big, it scared me a bit. I expected it to turn around and start talking to me.
Then I started laughing at myself. Though it was giant in the world of worms, it was not a threat to me. But mammoth worms are like many of our fears, not related to reality. When I am not in danger, my fear is usually related to doing something differently than in the past. In business that could mean creating a product for a different type of customer, seeking a new distribution channel, letting go of an offering that is not performing well, or acknowledging a mistake and working to cut losses and move on.
So how to get past my nervousness? Take a deep breath and remember how the work I do helps others, remember how much I have learned and grown from my work. I also think about others and the positive impact their work has had on my life. In other words, I think about the bigger picture and the longer term.
What are the giant green tomato worms in your life? How do you get past them?
Continued success! See you next Wednesday,

Don't be afraid to go out on a limb. That's where the fruit is.
