Athletics News
Image of singer and donor

image of team On Thursday, April 9, LMC Softball held a "Thank You Ceremony" prior to our doubleheader against Yuba College. The team received a $2500 donation from a community supporter, United Association Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 342. UA Local 342 was represented by Business Manager/Financial Secretary Mike Hernandez and Business Representative Bob Bustos.  Both are life-long Pittsburg residents and friends of softball coach, Tim Rognlien.

LMC Athletics Director, Richard Villegas, was the emcee of the event.  He expressed appreciation for the gift on behalf of the softball coaching staff and student players.

Gabby Worley, our leading base stealer, presented our guests with an LMC Softball jacket and hat.   Jasmina Cross, one of our leading hitters, presented our guests with a team-autographed softball.  Last, but not least, two sophomores, Quincy Pierce and Crystal Hicks showed off a beautiful banner honoring UA Local 342 which now hangs permanently on our center field fence.

Both teams stood at the base lines and heartily approved the performance of the National Anthem sung by Raphael Raynor, a student in our LMC Music program.
