Early Graduation Application

For Summer 2015Did you know you can apply for graduation one semester early and receive an earlier registration appointment for your last semester at LMC? That early registration appointment will give you a much better chance of getting into the last classes you need for graduation.  If you plan to complete your certificate or degree requirements in Summer 2015, you may submit an Early Graduation Application through February 27 and receive an early registration appointment for summer. If you want to walk in the Spring 2015 commencement ceremony, you can fill out an additional form that will be available in mid-April. Watch the website for more details. For more information, review Graduation Policies.

For Fall 2015: If you plan to complete your certificate or degree requirements in Fall 2015, you may submit your Early Graduation Application beginning March 2 and receive an early registration appointment for fall. Students completing academic requirements in the fall will not participate in the Spring 2015 Commencement Ceremony.

Changes to Enrollment Priorities

The California Community College Board of Governors approved changes effective Fall 2014 that establish system-wide enrollment priorities designed to ensure classes are available for students seeking job training, degree attainment or transfer, and to reward students who make progress toward their educational goals. New students who have completed college orientation, assessment and developed education plans, as well as continuing students in good academic standing who have not exceeded 100 units (not including units in basic English and Math or English as a Second Language), will have priority over students who do not meet these criteria.

As a result of the new regulations, students on probation and/or dismissal for two or more consecutive semesters or who have completed 100 or more degree applicable units within the district will not be eligible for priority enrollment. If you are on probation for two or more consecutive semesters or have completed 100 or more degree applicable units at the time of Summer 2015 registration, you will lose your priority enrollment status.

"YOUR RIGHT TO DREAM" CONFERENCE

Right to Dream Poster

Get the facts about AB540!

Did you know over 65,000 undocumented students graduate from high school each year across the United States? At least 26,000 of them are from California. Undocumented students are ineligible to apply for federal financial aid to attend college because of their immigration status. With this in mind, Los Medanos College will be hosting a free countywide educational conference, empowering youth and their families with knowledge about their educational rights.

Please join us for the 5th Annual AB-540 "Your Right to Dream" conference on March 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m in the Recital Hall, MU-720.

The conference is free and lunch will be provided to all registered participants.

Key conference highlights include the following workshops:

  • AB-540
  • Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
  • California DREAM Act
