Less than four weeks remain of Fall Semester and you are undoubtedly focused on final projects, papers and exams. If you are wondering when your finals are, check out the online final exam schedule (but be sure to confirm the dates with your instructors, as well). This is also the time to plan for Spring 2014 classes, so be sure to check the online Schedule of Classes or pick up a hard copy at the Admissions Office or the Bookstore. And be sure to read below for important information about registration dates and procedures. Important Dates
- November 25 -- Begin priority registration for EOPS, DSPS, qualified veterans and foster youth
- November 27 -- Special registration for DSPS notetakers, early graduation applicants and qualified athletes
- November 28-30 -- Thanksgiving holidays, college closed
- December 2 -- Begin registration for continuing students by appointment
- December 12-18 -- Final exams
- December 18 -- Last day of instruction
- December 21-January 2 -- Winter recess, college closed

Admissions Updates
Get Ready for Registration!
Priority registration for Spring 2014 classes begins soon! Check WebAdvisor now for your priority registration date and be sure to enroll on your appointment date so you get the classes you want. Registration is done through WebAdvisor. The spring Schedule of Classes is available online now, so take a look and begin planning for next semester.
It's also important to log into WebAdvisor now to make sure you do not have any holds that will prevent you from enrolling in classes on your registration date. Click on a WebAdvisor menu item and if you have a hold on your account for any reason, an error message will pop up.
Graduation If you applied for Fall 2013 graduation, you should have received notification of your status by now. If you are planning to apply for Spring 2014 graduation, you may apply after you have registered for your spring classes. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2014. Got Questions? Many students call the Admissions & Records Office to ask for information that is contained on the website. We want you to have the information you need and that is why we have worked hard to make our website as complete and informative as possible. So please check the Admissions webpages first -- before you call -- as most answers are contained there.

Services at Brentwood Center You probably know about the LMC Brentwood Center, especially if you attend classes there, but you may not know that Brentwood Center offers many of the same academic and student services offered at the Pittsburg campus.
Student Services The following student services are offered at the Brentwood Center:
- Admissions & Records
- Assessment testing by appointment
- Bookstore services during the first two weeks of each semester
- Academic and transfer counseling
- Counseling workshops for probation and reinstatement
- DSPS counseling and test proctoring
- Financial Aid appointments
- Library Services - textbook reserve, library book pick-up and drop-off
- Transfer Center workshops
Academic Services These academic services are available at the Brentwood Center:
- General tutoring
- Reading and writing assistance through the Center for Academic Support
- Math Lab, Room 15

The Angel Tree Toy Drive begins November 25. LMC Brentwood Center students, faculty and staff have been collecting toys during the holiday season for the children served by Village Community Resource Center in Brentwood for many years. This year, there are over 60 children, from kindergarten age through eighth grade! Donations will be accepted through finals week. |
Scholarship Updates

The Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship
The Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship application for 2014 is now available. This scholarship was founded in in 1968 in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Senator Robert F. Kennedy. $8000 scholarships are awarded to students from minority groups under-represented at California's four-year colleges and universities with financial need, who have demonstrated academic success at one of the three community colleges in Contra Costa County. LMC Brentwood Center Scholarship
The $500 Brentwood Center Scholarship is awarded to a Brentwood Center student who plans to continue their education at the Brentwood Center in the Spring 2014 semester. Qualifications and application
Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Award
The Women's Opportunity Awards program assists women who are the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. CalWORKs Portraits of Student Success
Portraits of Student Success is a publication of the CalWORKs Association designed to recognize the outstanding achievements of CalWORKs students as they overcome life's challenges. The CalWORKs Association is actively seeking the stories of current and former CalWORKs students for this annual publication. Scholarships in the amount of $500 - $1,000 are also awarded. LMC Foundation Scholarships

Student Life Events
Social Justice Film: "Girls Rising"
LMCAS presents "Girls Rising", a groundbreaking film about the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to transform societies. The film will be shown on Wednesday, December 4 and Thursday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Student Life Office. Refreshments will be served.
Inter-Club Council Club Day Vote:
At the October 29th Club Day, the clubs asked the LMC community the following question: "Do you think that ICC should purchase a new microwave and donate it to the cafeteria"? Out of the 110 responses, 105 said "Yes" and 5 "No". The microwave will be purchased for the spring semester.
Inter-Club Council Meetings
The Inter-Club Council (ICC) meets weekly on Mondays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in L-106. ICC is the coordinating body for all clubs and organizations on campus. ICC promotes engagement in community and college activities. If your club is a member of ICC, it is imperative that your ICC Representative attend the meetings on a regular basis.
LMCAS (Student Government) Meetings
Los Medanos College Associated Students (LMCAS) is the official student government at LMC. Their primary purpose is to advance the welfare of all students. Weekly meetings are held on Mondays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in L106 (Library Conference Room 2).
