Correction: Last Day to Request Pass/No Pass

The January issue of the Student Services e-News contained an error regarding the last day to request Pass/No Pass for a course marked SC (Student Choice). Please note that the correct deadline for requesting Pass/No Pass is February 8. Students may fill out the Pass/No Pass form at the Admissions and Records office.

GradGraduation
If you plan to graduate this May now is the time to apply. Your graduation date is determined by the semester you complete your requirements and the semester you apply for graduation.

There are several different options for students to graduate this year:

Fall 2012 Graduates
Fall diplomas will be mailed to students who have applied for fall graduation by February 15,2013.

Spring Graduates
Students who are graduating in spring must apply for graduation by March 1st. Please make sure to see your counselor and apply by that date.

Summer Graduates

  • If you are planning to graduate at the end of Summer Session, you may file an Early Graduation Applicationno later than February 28. The huge benefit of doing this is that you receive an earlier registration date for Summer 2013 classes.
  • If you will be graduating this summer and wish to participate in the 2013 commencement ceremony, you may fill out an "Application to Walk with Coursework Remaining", which will be available on the Admissions and Records Forms web page soon and must be completed by April 26th.
  • All students planning to graduate at the end of summer session may file a regular  Application for Graduation once they have registered for their summer classes.

All applications for graduation can also be found on the Admissions and Records Forms page.

Commencement
Commencement, the ceremony to celebrate your scholastic achievement, is held once per year at the end of spring semester. The 2012-2013 commencement will be held on Friday, May 24. Students who complete their requirements in Summer 2012, Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 will be invited to participate in the ceremony.

Change in GE Pattern for 2013-2014

Many students have been asking about the changes in the LMC General Education pattern for 2013-2014. The changes will go into effect for Summer 2013. Students who wish to take advantage of this new pattern, but who finish their degree in Spring 2013, may fill out a Summer 2013 graduation application along with an Application to Walk With Coursework Remaining.
