Great Services We Offer
Bringing Italy's Classic Style Home To You

Timeless. Ageless. Iconic. First-class. Archetypal.  They all mean "classic." Trends are all well and good, but sometimes you crave that which is enduring. You need to surround yourself with things that you know will stand the test of time.

That is why Stanley Furniture created Fab black dressThe Classic  Portfolio. Have you ever asked yourself why some things never go out of style? The little black dress, a red sports car, a great steak? The reason is deceptively simple.

It is the same with furniture. Some looks are so enduring, they have not only stood the test of time, but influenced the styles that followed. When we think of the good life, we need look no further than Italy. There, la bella vita Design Solution personifies the heart of Rustica.

Designed to immediately call to mind the stately allure of Italy's villas, the designs feature heavily carved details such as acanthus leaves, volute C-scrolls, carved trifid feet and cabriole legs.

Beautifully rich and detailed, the collection's paisley fabric blends shades of strawberry, terracotta and chocolate.

What truly sets Rustica apart, however, is its scale. The collection is designed to fit into everyday life without sacrificing Tacks style. Rustica's two finishes-Sorrel and Raven further reveal the collection's Tuscan inspiration with their respective chestnut  and espresso hues. Classically styled bale and rosette hardware in an antiqued iron finish complete each design's homage to all things Italian.

The Rich History of the Rosette
You may recognize the centerpiece of this familiar image from Downton Abbey's opening scene.

Since we entered the colorful and exciting field of interior design 30 years ago, we've used rosettes extensively.  Often a subtle detail, a rosette is defined as a round, stylized flower design most often  used in sculptural objects from antiquity.

They first appeared in Mesopotamia and were used to decorate the funeral stele (an upright stone slab) in Ancient Greece. Adopted later in Romaneseque and Renaissance periods, rosettes were also common in the art of Central Asia, spreading as far as India where they was used as a decorative motif in Greco-Buddhist art.

Rosettes are also used in metalworking, jewelry design and the applied arts at the intersection of two materials, or to form a decorative border.

There's a rosette style for almost every setting.  We've been known to buy a case of 3" stone  rosettes and glue them to walls and ceilings.  They fill in the odd blank space in an art arrangement beautifully.  We love to create  one-of-a-kind signature medallions by custom coloring  them for each individual client.  Call us for more rosette ideas.
