Greetings,
Finally (and not too soon!) spring has arrived, and it has always been one of my favorite times of the year to be on the BUSM campus. The renewed energy is contagious as we eagerly anticipate Commencement and welcoming new graduates into our alumni family.
Alumni Weekend is almost here, and returning graduates celebrating reunions always brings great enthusiasm to the campus. I encourage you to visit and participate in any of all of the activities planned here in the medical school and at The Taj Boston.
We are honored to have Dr. Howard Bauchner '79 (Editor-in-Chief of JAMA) presenting the Medical Grand Round Lecture "From Data to Guidelines to Public Health Message: Is Simple Necessary?" and back by popular demand, Dr. James Brust '68 will present "The Extraordinary Early History of the Boston University School of Medicine, 1848-1918."
During the Alumni Weekend Banquet, three alumni will be recognized for their distinguished careers in medicine. Please join us at this festive dinner to personally congratulate Lloyd P. Aiello '88, Robert K. Jackler '79 and Michael S. Niederman '77.
As we celebrate milestones of our students, faculty and alumni, we are also respectfully aware of a somber anniversary of the Boston Marathon tragedy occurring one year ago this week. In observation of the occasion, a number of commemorative events are being held on and off campus to reflect, remember and heal.
Now that the snow has disappeared and Talbot Green is sprouting new growth, I invite you to visit, virtually or physically to stay connected with your BUSM family.
All the best,
Jean Ramsey, MD '90 MPH '08
