Gain Share and Interim Safety Projects nearing completion   

As November winds down, so do a number of County road projects.  The following Interim Safety Projects have been completed this month:

  • 119th Avenue at Lovejoy Street: Pedestrian ramps were constructed on the east side of the intersection.
  • 209th Avenue (Blanton Street to TV Highway): A pedestrian path was constructed on the east side of 209th Avenue.
  • Rock Road (Rock Court to Cornelius Pass Road): A pedestrian path was constructed on the south side of Rock Road.

The following Interim Safety Improvements and Gain Share projects are scheduled for completion by the end of November:

  • Cipole Road (Pacific Drive to Pacific Highway): A sidewalk is under construction.
  • Taylor Street (Winwood Drive to 90th Avenue): A sidewalk is under construction. on the south side.
  • Barnes Road (west of the Saltzman Road intersection): A pedestrian path is under construction on the south side of Barnes.
  • Cornell Road (west of 97th Avenue to 102nd Avenue): A pedestrian path is under construction on the north side of Cornell Road.
  • McDaniel Road (Harding Court to Arnott Lane):  A widened shoulder is under construction on the south side of McDaniel.
  • Thompson Road (143rd Avenue to Evergreen Street): A pedestrian path is under construction on the north side of Thompson.

The Rock Creek Trail crossing signal at Cornell Road and Walker Road will be completed by the end of the year.

Open House

Dec. 10: 198th Avenue project open house

The public is invited to stop by Hazeldale Elementary School, 20080 SW Farmington Road, any time between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the proposal to widen 198th Avenue between Farmington Road and TV Highway.  The project calls for three lanes with continuous bike lanes and sidewalks. Construction is anticipated to occur in 2018. No formal presentation is planned.  Project webpage   Media release

Neighborhood Meetings for Proposed Developments:
NOTE: This information is provided as a courtesy only. Developers are required to hold Neighborhood Meetings prior to submitting certain land use applications. A developer may also choose to hold such a meeting voluntarily if it is not required by county code. These meetings are intended to serve as a forum for the developer, affected CPOs, and property owners within the required notification buffer (500 feet in urban areas; 1,000 feet in rural areas) to discuss the proposal prior to the developer submitting an application to the county. County staff do not schedule these meetings and do not attend them. For more information, see the Mandatory Neighborhood Meeting & Mailings Requirements.  

TONIGHT - Proposed wastewater pump station

At 6 p.m. (11/18) at Rosedale Elementary School. The subject property is 12.14 acres in the FD-20 district (Future Development, 20-acre minimum), and is located at 4622 SW 229th Ave. Contact Mike Kebbe, Clean Water Services, at 503-547-8196.

TONIGHT - Proposed 250-lot single-family subdivision 

At 6:30 p.m. (11/18) at Bonny Slope Elementary School. The subject property is 17 lots totaling 45.49 acres on the north side of NW Thompson Road as shown on the map on the right. With the adoption of A-Engrossed Ordinance 802 (effective Nov. 26), the properties will be designated R-6 and R-9 (Residential 5-6 units per acre and Residential 7-9 units per acre, respectively).
