Featured Pledged Employer: Tucson Jewish Community Center
The Tucson Jewish Community Center (TJCC) is a 110,000 sq. ft. facility built in 1989 and recently renovated in 2015. With more than 4,600 members and families, The J is open to the Tucson community of all faiths. The J offers a robust schedule of events ranging from Arts & Culture to Sports & Wellness to Children & Family. As a Pledged Employer, The J has committed to creating and supporting a healthy workplace for employees.
Susan Frank is the Director of Health and Wellness and a member of the Healthy Pima Employer Wellness Alliance leadership group.
"The J has been hosting the Healthy Pima Employer Wellness Alliance meetings for nearly a year," said Frank. "We are honored to offer our space to the Healthy Pima Employer Wellness Alliance and re happy to host special events as needed, such as the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) training, which we hosted in October for more than a dozen wellness and HR professionals."
"The J believes health and wellness are extremely important," Frank said. "Therefore, we have started a column in our regular e-blast that highlights a Jewish teaching related to Health and Wellness.
"In addition, the Jewish Community Center Association of North America (JCCA) offers a nationally run program called Discover Coordinated Approach to Childhood Health (CATCH). The primary focus of CATCH is to be implemented in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program to educate youth and parents on healthy lifestyle choices. Its mission is to get the families to move more and eat healthier. You can read more about the program HERE.

Challenge Spotlight: The President's Challenge Adult Fitness Test
In each newsletter we will highlight a suggested challenge/activity that employers can share with their employees to support their physical activity and wellness efforts. For our challenge, consider sharing the President's Challenge Adult Fitness Test with your employees. Participants can choose between aerobic, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and body composition tests. This is a great way for adults to get a sense of their physical fitness! Don't forget to track results so you can share with us your successes in an upcoming survey.
