The frozen banana stand was set up in downtown Culver City Monday handing out free frozen bananas. Some might remember frozen bananas on Balboa Island and also is the basis for the Bluth family fortune, by George Bluth Sr. in Newport Beach. Story here
 KTLA's anchor Michaela Piera moves her career to New York:
Veteran "KTLA 5 Morning News" anchor Michaela Pereira will be joining CNN's new morning show in New York. Pereira, who joined KTLA in 2004 as a morning news anchor, leaves many dedicated Los Angeles fans. It's a New Day airs on June 17, when CNN becomes the latest to revamp its morning news show around a new anchor team of Chris Cuomo, Kate Bolduan and Michaela Pereira. Story here
