Washington's Birthday February 22 - or, is it?

You're back in colonial Virginia, it's the 1740's, you see a familiar figure coming towards you, it's young George Washington - he's a teenager. "George, nice to see you, isn't your birthday coming up soon?" "Why yes, now that you've mentioned it, it's on February 11." Now, let's fast forward 10 years; again you see Washington approach; he's now in his twenties. "George, I'm sorry I didn't remember your birthday on February 11." "Don't worry" George replies, "it's not until February 22." How could that be? Did the father of our country really forget his own birthday? Mayor Villaraigosa has just finished unveiling the route for the CicLAvia on April 21: the "linear park" will run 15 miles, from El Pueblo Downtown to Venice Beach, mostly via Venice Boulevard.
This is LA's sixth CicLAvia, which shuts down streets to cars and opens them to pedestrians, bikers, and other enthusiasts of playing in the street--the mayor says he's been trying to get the party out to Venice since it started in 2010. More HERE
