Among the many pleasures of Hartsville residence is how frequently the outdoors is more appealing than the indoors. Long stretches of sunny weather, warm, placid holidays, and an overwhelming freedom from heavy coats are some of the hallmarks of Southern living. Hartsvillians know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth, and are often found exploring the great outdoors - even within the city limits! As May rolls gently into June, Hartsville's business community is more than happy to indulge us with outdoor events and activities.
The annual Gospel in the Park series is starting again on June 8th. This is a wonderful chance to not only experience the warm, summer weather, but to commune with friends and family. The theme - bringing unity to our community - is one that the Chamber wholeheartedly endorses.
Spending time outdoors holds a pair of distinctions that are too-rarely associated: it's fun and good for your health! The June Good Living Marketplace is presenting an opportunity to learn about hula hooping, yoga, and how you can use these activities to boost your health. As always, the marketplace will also present a lovely open-air avenue of local vendors.
The City of Hartsville is also fond of their outdoor recreation, and is hosting the second of four Screen on the Green movie screenings on June 14 - Finding Nemo. A night under the stars with a classic family movie sounds like a perfect way to get out of the house, doesn't it?
The Chamber hopes you will enjoy all these outdoor events in early June, and promises many more as the summer continues. The fresh air and fellowship will do all of Hartsville a world of good.
