"A true sign of a person's character

March 19, 2014

Relaxation is, in the minds of many, a key tenet of Southern living.  While there will always be those who fret and fuss, the truly wise know how to take it easy.  Of course, 'taking it easy' is easier said than done sometimes, but with all the great R&R opportunities Hartsville offers, who could blame you for taking a day off every now and again?

Our new member spotlight this week is Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, part of The Body Works! LLC. Not only will they help you de-stress with their professional massage and therapy services, they'll help you stay healthy in all areas of your life with their customizable wellness plans.  Let them do the work, and have one less thing to worry about!

Once you're feeling limber and fit, it's time to hit the links!  Hartsville Country Club and Prestwood Country Club offer world-class golfing right here in town.  Not a golfer?  Leave your scorecards at home and enjoy the outdoors at Kalmia Gardens, where the tranquil wildlife and scenery are sure to foster a relaxed state of mind.

Of course, another key tenet of Southern living is unpredictable weather.  So if a quick glance out the window rules out any of these outdoor activities, you can always curl up with a good book from the Memorial Library or Burry Bookstore.  Just be sure to stop by the Midnight Rooster first to pick up a hot coffee or tea to complete the cozy indoor experience.

This week's poll: Any way you slice it, Hartsville is a great place to put your work down and your boots up.  What's your favorite way to relax? Click Here
