The 2014 BUSINESS EXPO, sponsored by Raceway Ford Chevrolet, is this Thursday from 5:00 - 8:30pm at the YMCA of the Upper Pee Dee in downtown Hartsville. If you haven't already reserved your booth, today is the last day to do so. Even if your business will not have a booth, we encourage you to come during the business-to-business portion, between 5:00 and 6:00pm, to network with other Chamber businesses. The EXPO is open to the public from 6:00 - 8:30pm. Come learn about local products and services available in the greater Hartsville area.
Last week, we explored generational diversity. Among the poll respondents, 56.2% identified as Baby Boomers, 37.5% as Generation Xers, and 6.2% as Millennials. This ratio of generations in the workforce, closely mirrors the national averages. This week, we would like to remind you of the Chamber's division of Hartsville Young Professionals (HYP). Local young professionals have organized themselves with the mission to provide social, networking, and professional development opportunities to new and native Hartsvillians, making Hartsville a city where young professionals want to live, work, and play.
HYP has just launched their new website. Be sure to check it out. The web site is home to a blog featuring articles about HYP, happenings around town and topics that are of interest to HYP members. You will also find an events calendar and membership information. Also note the HYP section of this newsletter, beneath the table of contents, which is an easy way to learn about upcoming HYP events and activity. We encourage you to support HYP by sponsoring their work. You can learn more about sponsorship levels via the "Donate" page of their website. HYP will be hosting quarterly networking events through which you can learn how your business can better attract young professionals as customers and/or how your business may better recruit and retain young professionals to your workforce.
We look forward to seeing you at the BUSINESS EXPO!!
