Social Workers Awards Breakfast
Held at Osprey Lodge
The Lake and Sumter County Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers held its awards breakfast on the stunning lakeside lanai at Osprey Lodge. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the confetti sticks!

Corporate Survival

(Nugget from Corporate Culture and Performance)

A corporate culture is often viewed as something nice to think about once important business is taken care of, or fun and games if there is a moment to spare. Studies however have uncovered the following thought provoking facts regarding cultures.

  • Corporate culture can significantly impact a firm's long-term economic performance.
  • Companies where key managers emphasize a culture focused on employees and customers outperformed by huge margins firms that did not.
  • Over an eleven-year period, corporations with a cultural focus increased revenue by an average of 682%, expanded their work force by 282% and grew their stock price by 901%.  Those with no focus only realized 166% revenue increase, 36% work force increase and 74% stock price increase.
  • In the next decade corporate culture will probably be an even more important factor in determining the success or failure of firms.
  • Corporations that stress performance above culture usually neglect needed strategic or tactical changes, resulting in a negative financial impact.

As the date quickly approaches for the opening of two new lodges, the Living Well Lodges team will continue to tweak our cultural focus, and introduce it to the new team members who will help carry the "Elders Changing the World" message forth.
