The Many Benefits of Being Creative

Even if you are not really talented, research shows that creating art enhances our brain power and improves our overall
well being.

It helps memory and our thought processing ability:  Studies have shown that 70% Alzheimer's and dementia patients who took daily art therapy classes showed improvement in those areas.

It reduces stress and depression: Many studies found that focusing attention on a soothing hobby like art raises endorphin levels and reduces stress. Art takes your mind off your worries and places them in a different part of your brain. FYI: Blood pressure can also drop.

It brings us into the present: Creating art forces you to pay attention to the here and now, rather than daydreaming or getting caught in unproductive thought patterns. Living in the moment  eliminates distracted thinking.

It stimulates the imagination: Creating art helps to stimulate the right side of your brain to creativity and imagination, which ultimately affects not only your artwork, but how you see the world in general.
