The opportunity to give amazing customer service happens when we are motivated and encouraged to discover unique ways to deliver an unexpected level of service.

 

One great example of impressive service took place at one national buffet chain's restaurant when a demanding patron asked for fried shrimp on a night it was not on the menu.  The manager could have informed the customer that shrimp was not available that night, but he didn't. Instead, he personally prepared a special order of shrimp specifically for that guest. Now that was an unexpected level of service. How many other restaurants do you think give similar service when asked for something not on their menu?

 

The question is, what are you doing for customers that the competition might find a little extreme? Your answer could be the competitive advantage that raises the bar for everyone your customers do business with.
