What is Your Mantra?
(Nugget from Cult of the Customer)
A mantra is a key phrase that is short and simple, yet explains your values and goals clearly. The best mantras are so focused they are the same for both employees and customers.
Some Great Examples:
Outback Steakhouse doesn't just serve steak; it serves "Great Food with NO RULES." That statement defines the environment, experience and culture that are constantly moving toward.
Avis Rent a Car's "We Try Harder" mantra exploits the fact they are not number one, by turning it into a brand promise. It is a mantra and a slogan that says they try harder because they want your business.
The Ritz Carlton preaches to its employees that they are "ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen." That defines the environment, experience and culture they are constantly moving toward.
At Living Well Lodges our mantra is "Elders Changing the World." For our residents it says this is not a place to curl up and die, but a place to live out the next great adventure. For the families and our employees, it means we are accountable for discovering each resident's God given gifts and providing the tools and resources that allow them to thrive and remain productive.
