We Are Accountable to Our Community
Here are a few sobering facts according to a recent article from the Alzheimer's Association: One in eight Americans age 65 and older has Alzheimer's disease. Millions more have another form of dementia.
The prevalence of dementia is expanding rapidly as the population ages. Who's taking care of these people? In many cases, it's their adult children, spouses, or other family members.
As these family dynamics and caregiver challenges continue to grow, Living Well Lodges is primed to meet its responsibilities to assist, educate and provide hope to both caregivers and patients. Within our mission is the goal of being accountable to each community we build, and a mandate to improve the lives of its citizens.
Discussions are presently underway for initiating mentoring/support meetings to help caregivers navigate the steep learning curve of caring for a loved one with dementia, and for setting up respite care for a patient when the caregiver needs a hiatus to maintain personal health and wellbeing.
