Are you finding you've thrown in the sweaty towel on that New Year's resolution? Did you start January with the best of intentions saying, "No carbs, new workouts - this time I'm going to stick with it, this year will be different. NEW YEAR, NEW ME!" And, now it's February and the momentum is waning. So is there an actual breakdown of why we don't follow through and how to get back or stay on track?

If we look at the big picture, December usually involves weeks of binge eating and drinking, events, parties, and family holidays. Our workouts around this time are usually not at the intensity and consistency they usually are, if we're doing them at all! What this means is that we are all starting January with our cardiovascular system, our endurance, and muscle mass down. Let's face it, we're bloated and out of shape come January and we hit the road running as hard as we can. We go all-out in our workouts and try not to eat anything. We workout so hard that by Jan 20th we are FRUSTRATED. We feel we have not lost the weight we should of have, we are tired, exhausted, and HUNGRY! So what needs to change in order for 2016 to change? For you, as TACT members, we want you to remain inspired! We want you to see yourself as part of a community. We want to bring workouts and inspiration to your inbox!

We have partnered with The Body Exchange and have invited at-home trainer to Biggest Loser contestants, Zachary Taylor, to help educate, inspire and take you beyond the frustration. As fitness trainer to locals in Amarillo he is known for being honest, telling people change isn't overnight. He's also quick to tell you that
NO ONE can go 100% - 100% of the time.

Your body is going through a change and that's a good thing! Change is hard and your body is still craving that sugar, those delicious carbs, and that relaxing glass of wine at night. If sticking to your fitness and nutrition goals was easy everyone would do it! Instead of giving in and indulging, listen to your body and indulge in taking care of yourself. Get a massage, take one extra day off, do yoga, go for a walk. You will feel way more relaxed after taking care of your body than you would giving into food and alcohol.

Stop obsessing. - Stop obsessing about what you're eating or not eating, how much you should have lost by now, or why you haven't lost at all. Be nicer to yourself!!!
EVERYONE GOES THROUGH THIS. YES... even fitness people! "Even I struggle with sweets! I want it! But, I have to limit myself. And, food - I love food!" Zach notes that he touts to his clients that he is just a small part of their journey to weightloss or fitness. "I have it posted on my gym wall, 'health is 80% nutrition and 20% workout. I am truly just a small part of the process. The largest part of responsibility lies in the client and their nutrition efforts."

Start reaching out. - You are not alone and you don't have to be alone. Find a fitness community that supports you. Find a program, classes, teachers, or apps that you enjoy. If you fall off (which we all do) reach out to someone to help you get back up. The most judgmental people in our lives are OURSELVES. Others aren't judging you. They want to help you, so reach out! Talk to us, Like us on Facebook - we'll talk back!

Self talk is all talk. -  Everyone gets to this point of needing to get back on a fitness regimen, but it's more about how are you talking to yourself? Are you saying,  I'm frustrated, I should be thinner, I am fat, I am not a runner, I AM tired, I am stressed? You are what you say you are!  You wouldn't say that to your bestie who is trying to keep it together so stop saying to you about you!

Stop going too hard. - Why are you going so hard in your fitness regimen? Are you burnt out before 30 days is up? Make way for modifications, options. Something is better than nothing so don't go all in everyday - that's impossible to maintain for a lifetime.

Find your true focus. - So many of us focus all of our energy on weight loss. We do this so much that we lose the big picture of health and of taking care of ourselves from the inside. There is NO perfect body and NO perfect fitness. What there is,is how we portray ourselves and talk to ourselves. It's okay to be tired and sore and want to eat. Own it, embrace it, and take care of it instead of dwelling on it and making it worse. Change happens from the inside out, change your I AM statement, change your focus from what's wrong with your body to what you see improving.

We are bringing the best to your home computer, your office inbox, your phone! We've challenged ourselves to have a healthier and more fit 2016 and we're glad to have you alongside us for the journey. Take a look! Take advantage!
And, give us feedback - how are you doing?
Together we will get healthy and be healthy.
Together we will be awesome!

IF you're looking to create the perfect body, YOU ALREADY HAVE IT.
You just need to own it, live it and love it!
