Fall 2015
Dear Alumni Students and Parents,

We hope your year is off to a great start. We miss seeing our old students in our hallways every day although we are excited to hear about their successes in high school, college, and beyond!

At this time, we would like to thank you for your dedication and support of FASPS. Celebrating our 20th anniversary has given us many opportunities to reflect on how much the school has changed: increased academic and extracurricular resources, growing diversity in our community, and plans to extend our campus and strengthen our programs to further enhance our curriculum.

Without you, none of these wonderful changes would have been possible. Your family has been an integral part of this growth, embodying the values of our school to others and embracing the mission of FASPS, both within the classroom and out. Our school is a better place today because of you.

Your family will always be valuable members of the FASPS community. The FASPS Alumni Program strives to foster strong relationships between alumni students, alumni families, and the school. Remember that you are always welcome back at FASPS. Read below to learn more about the latest activities of the alumni committee and news about our alumni themselves!

With gratitude,
Eric Thuau
Head of School
on behalf of the Alumni Committee

Alumni Care Packages
To honor all FASPS alumni who hit the important milestone of entering college this year, we sent care packages as a little reminder of home and to let them know that FASPS is so excited for them! We organized a work party with our high school-aged alumni to help pack up the boxes, and the alumni were thrilled to receive them! If you haven't received one, email us your address. The first four people to respond will receive a care package!

Calendar of Events

The closing event of our 20th anniversary celebrations will be filled with tastes, treats, and activities for all ages, as well as showcases of some of the rich and fascinating cultures represented in our school. We encourage our alumni to join us on December 6, 2015 from 1-5pm at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah and reconnect with FASPS friends and faculty. Buy tickets now ($5-20) before prices go up on November 21! We will also host a talent show and we would love to feature some FASPS alumni students. If you are interesting in performing, contact fasps20@fasps.org

Programs for Alumni Students -
We need your input!

CNED
FASPS has previously offered a CNED French Language Arts program (French Ministry of Education distance learner program) for FASPS alumni students in Grades 9 and 10. We are looking at restructuring this program by partnering with the Alliance Francaise and, if there is sufficient interest, relaunching in January. If you are interested in participating, please email us by November 16, 2015 and let us know which day(s) you would be interested in. We plan on having one class per week from 3:45-5:30pm.

Summer Drama Workshop
Last year was the inauguration of the FASPS Summer Drama Festival for alumni students. Our students had a wonderful experience, culminating in a fantastic show after a week of preparation. We will offer the second edition this summer for students in grades 9-12 this year. We're looking at Friday, June 24 to Friday, July 1 (eight full days of French drama classes)! If you are interested in participating, please email us as soon as possible so we can confirm the number of participants, dates, and location. This workshop is open to any high school student fluent in French (not just FASPS alumni), so if you know of anyone who would be interested, please pass along the information.

Annual Fund

Twenty Years of Giving at FASPS
As part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations at FASPS, our Annual Report this year looked back at 20 years of amazing support from our community. We encourage you to take a look, and if you would like a hard copy of our annual report/calendar, email us

We celebrated our annual Giving Week from October 5-9. A fun activity was organized each day to raise awareness of the Annual Fund campaign and we have now raised $217,000 in gifts, pledges, and corporate match funds and reached 75% participation from our current parents!

Support the Annual Fund!
Thanks to a generous current family, we will hold a FASPS Giving Tuesday challenge on December 1. If we receive 30 gifts on that day, this anonymous donor will give a gift of $5,000! Click here for details about how to give to the 2015-2016 Annual Fund Campaign. You can also click here to view the video from current parents about the importance of the Annual Fund!
