Are you an 8th-12th grade student with talent and a passion for the arts?

Or a parent or teacher who wants to learn about this grant opportunity for arts students?

Or an artist interested in mentoring a student who shares your passion for the arts?

 

Come and learn more about

Region 2 Arts Council's Artist Mentor Grant Program!

Region 2 Arts Council staff, artist mentors, and student artists will be on-hand to answer your questions and share their experiences with the program. Come be inspired! Light snacks provided.

 

WHEN: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29.

 

WHERE: Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, 519 Minnesota Avenue NW, Bemidji.

Minnesota Arts Market is the place to find reusable arts and theater materials. It is a free service that links organizations that have reusable goods they no longer need to those who can use them. Users need to register for an account to use this web site, which is open to all Minnesota artists and arts organizations.

Arts Market is managed by the Minnesota Theater Alliance, working in partnership with iWasteNot Systems, the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program, and the University of Minnesota ReUse Program. This program was made possible by funding from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and the McKnight Foundation.


Region 2 Performing Arts Groups! Mark your calendars for 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on November 5, 2014 for a networking and information session facilitated by Minnesota Theater Alliance. We'll gather at Headwaters School of Music and the Arts at 519 Minnesota Avenue in Bemidji. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Come learn about our grants and receive helpful tips on writing your grant proposal and gathering the information and materials necessary for your grant application at the following informational sessions:

Don't miss the Bemidji - First City of the Arts Studio Cruise October 17th, 18th & 19th. Grab a map and go tour local artists' studios to see how they do their craft and purchase the beautiful artworks they make.

Another way to support local arts is to buy a ticket to Ooh La La for the Arts happening this Weekend, Sunday, October 5th at Sparkling Waters from 5-8 p.m.! Tickets are available online at NWMF.org, Proceeds from this event support the Bemidji Area Arts Endowment which gives between $10,000 to $16,000 annually to local arts organizations to fund artists and art in the region.

Also this Sunday at 3 p.m. the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents Bach, Rach, & Bolero!

Connecting the Past to the Future: Contemporary Native American Portraits by
Joseph J. Allen will be at the Gordon Parks Gallery at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul Oct. 10-Nov. 7. There will be a reception Friday October 10th from 5-7:30 p.m. Joe is a Region 2 Arts Council board member representing Mahnomen County   

Roy C. Booth has had a number of books, stories and collaborative projects released recently including an anthology of very short Halloween "drabbles"
