Ernie and Patt Rall and H.B. and Ina Roholt were honored as the 26th Annual Friends of the Arts at this year's celebration presented by the Watermark Art Center and First National Bank Bemidji on August 29. Congratulations to these amazing arts advocates and patrons of the arts!

We received this lovely note from Bemidji Community Education: Thanks to a Region 2 Arts Project Grant, the SummerKids Program was able to attain the services of local artist Susan Kedzie, who held art clubs for children in grades 3, 4 and 5.The instruction was specifically geared toward those students highly interested in art and focused on creative skills and drawing. Susan adds humor, as you can see from the photo, to help the students relax about being "perfect". As the art fairy, Susan would "give them a special ability, but they would have to work hard for it" to help them understand that no one is born knowing how to draw.

Congratulations Susan and Bemidji Community Ed on a successful SummerKids program!
