Featured Opportunities!
As you can see from the images in our heading we are featuring the Bemidji Sculpture Walk! Right now you can vote for your favorite sculpture in the People's Choice Awards! The Bemidji Sculpture Walk is excited to open a call for 2D artist to paint Giant Dragonflies! This project will be similar to the Beaver project below.  The 10 fiberglass dragonflies will be displayed in Bemidji in spring 2015. Artists are asked to submit digital samples of their work to be juried. See details at www.bemidjisculpture.org Auditions for Fiddler on the Roof August 27 & 28 at 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Historic Chief Theater in downtown Bemidji. Book Art Mentorship deadline is Sept. 1st. Public information session at MCBA's studios, to ask questions about the application process and learn about the resources and equipment available, on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 12:00pm Minnesota Film, Video, and Digital Production Grant deadline is September 26th. This program awards grants to emerging film, video, and digital makers in the disciplines of experimental, narrative, documentary, and animation. Minnesota Film and TV proposals are due by December 5th from Minnesota-based Filmmakers with narrative features or long-form documentary works in progress. |

Noteworthy!
 Congratulations to Artist Alice Blessing! Her self-portrait placed 1st in Visual Arts Minnesota's Round 2 of Pop Up Galleries Summer Selfies competition.
 Congratulations to Artist Wesley May, his mural entitled "Protect, Respect, Honor, Give Thanks for the Water" will be painted on the new digester building at the Wastewater Treatment Facility in Bemidji. May, a local artist, was chosen out of seven applicants to paint a mural on the 56 by 30-foot surface. His design highlights the facility's function and shows the importance of water.

Congratulations to Park Rapids silver smith Michael Peterson, who received the "Best of Show" award from the Bagley Art in the Park committee on Saturday July 12. Michael markets his sterling silver jewelry through Oakwood Studio.
 Congratulations to the BCT Jr. program! 42 children, 7 interns and 3 teachers participated for a successful arts experience.
