August 2013

R2AC is co-hosting a collaborative arts event, Arms Around the Armory, in Park Rapids on Monday, August 5th at the Armory building. A collaborative community effort is under way to create an arts center for community arts events and arts education. The public is invited. See more information about the event on the right sidebar.

It's time to consider which R2AC GRANTS will help you accomplish your artistic goals or needs. The August 14, 2013 deadline for the Arts and Cultural Heritage grant is fast approaching but there is still time to get it done. We have $70,000 available to award this round! Individual artists can apply for up to $3,000 if the project includes a community component. Non-profit organizations, schools and local governments can request up to $6,000 for art events/activities, lifelong learning opportunities, and arts and cultural fairs or festivals.

September 11th is the deadline date for the Arts Project grant, with a $2,500 maximum request limit, and the $6,000 Career Development Fellowship for artists.

Check out the R2AC grant applications at
and contact R2AC staff to discuss your ideas or answer questions about which grant is the best fit for you or your organization.

We have "no risk" workshop funding available for workshops in all artistic mediums.  You can invite an artist to our region to teach, or a regional artist can conduct a workshop and earn a presenters fee. This is an on-going program (no deadlines) with an easy as pie application.

Enjoy the many arts activities happening in the region this summer!

Toshio Kimura of Tokyo will be giving the keynote address at this year's meeting, and attendees are coming from several countries and 25 states.
