November 2012      Vol. 15 Issue 5

Greetings!

Do you know who determines the grants and programs that R2AC offers? You do!  Arts programming is based on information we gather from people like you in our region. Your input informs the R2AC board on what direction to take for the next two years of arts funding. Please provide us with feedback by completing a brief survey (only 8 questions) and be the voice that helps shape arts programming for the upcoming years. Thank you!

We are also continuing to collect feedback at Listening Sessions throughout the five counties this fall. Share your thoughts with Beltrami R2AC board members by attending a listening session at the R2AC office on Wednesday, November 14th at 5:30 p.m. The Mahnomen County Listening Session is scheduled for Tuesday Dec. 4 at 5:30 in Mahnomen.

Here's a question for artists and organizations: why aren't you applying for "No Risk" Workshop funding? These funds are available for artists to earn money through presenter's fees and to provide adults with new artistic skills. Start planning and submitting your workshop ideas or these funds could be diverted to other categories.

The next Arts and Cultural Heritage grant deadline is January 17, 2013. Be prepared by starting, or better yet completing, your grant application before the holidays. Artists, did you know you can apply to conduct a school residency or teach at a nursing home through the Arts and Cultural Heritage grant? Contact schools, nursing homes and other organizations such as Boys & Girls clubs in the 5 county region to assist them with their arts programming. For all grant deadlines, please check the R2AC grant deadline schedule.

Our e-newsletter includes many workshops, events and opportunities available to you in November and the coming months. Read and take in the multiple offerings we are so fortunate to have in our rich artistic region. If you are finding our newsletter a bit too long, just print a copy to read when you have more time!

R2AC is committed to strengthening the development of your career or organization through our programs. Please contact us to discuss the various ways we can assist you.

Best Wishes for a bountiful Thanksgiving!

Terri Widman

R2AC Executive Director
