The Philharmonic Orchestra received an overall "Superior" rating at the Grade VI level, which is the highest rating on which all performing ensembles across the state are assessed per the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association. Congratulations also to our orchestra conductors, Dr. Scott "Doc" McCormick and Ms. Bo-Min Son!

study abroad: Exciting news for Jennifer Bonafide, LHS English teacher--she has been accepted to study at Oxford University this summer for post graduate work with a focus on Modern British Fiction and a seminar on Jane Austen.
college funding coach: Program about little known secrets of paying for college will be offered at Cooper Middle School on Wed, April 10, at 7pm in Room 130.
"For many families, the high cost of higher education is a daunting proposition. This workshop is designed to educate parents regarding the complicated and often frightening proposition of paying for college. In addition, we demonstrate strategies that have helped save families over $40,000 per year in tuition and fees. While the high-school college and career counselors serve a valuable role in helping students and families prepare for and select schools, our unique program teaches families how to pay for schools that they may have thought were out of reach based upon 'sticker price.'"
