At the annual National Russian Essay Contest, Langley students received 14 Gold, 9 Silver and 6 Bronze medals! This is one of the highest medal counts awarded to one school in the nation. The students were given two hours to write in Russian on a topic revealed to them only at the competition.

it's academic: Langley's appearance on the TV show It's Academic will be shown on NBC4 on Sat, March 2 at 10:30 am. The TV competitors were seniors Aishvar Radhakrishnan and Ryan Cheng and captain junior Michael Sanders. Alternates were junior Matt Anderson and seniors Skye Toor and Yasmeen Mushtaq. Tune in to see them represent our school!

girls' basketball: Congratulations to Senior Jessica Stewart for making 2nd team All Liberty District and to Senior Grace Goettman on making the All Defensive team. A special thank you to our other 6 seniors for their hard work and dedication this year: Alexis Biggs, Jaclyn Detwiler, Jennie Kleinknecht, Becky Powell, Selma Pulak, and Kaelin Testa. Spring workouts will begin the first week of April. The spring workout calendar and information on the rising 9th grade league will be posted next month on the langleysports.org website.
indoor track: Logan Besougloff, Cameron Thompson and Robert Yu
will participate in the Indoor Track State Tournament in Hampton, VA, on Fri, Feb 22 and Sat, Feb 23.

orchestra concert 2/26
|
Come hear music of Italian composers from the orchestra's recent trip to Rome! The next concert is Tue, Feb 26 in the Auditorium at 7 pm. All of the Langley HS Orchestras will be performing. The Cooper MS Symphonic Orchestra will also perform, as well as the Cooper Concert Orchestra with the Langley Chamber Orchestra. Orchestra members and their families are invited to the potluck dinner before the concert in the Cafeteria. ~ Students and families are invited to purchase tickets to the Orchestra Raffle (cash and check only, please). The raffle prizes are an SAT Prep Course from Georgetown Learning ($850 value) and a free uniform and lessons from S H Kim Tae Kwon Do ($200 value). Raffle tickets are being sold at the concert, and the raffle prizes will be drawn at the end of the concert.

Director of Student Services, Sonya Williams, and Career and College Specialist, Hannah Hurlburt, will present a talk titled, "The College Application Basics & Ethics."
