sandy hook snowflakes
| |
We are all saddened by the terrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School last week. This request was sent from the National PTA. When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many snowflakes as possible. We encourage senders to be as creative as possible in making paper snowflakes and to sign their snowflakes. Please send snowflakes by Jan 12 to Connecticut PTSA, 60 Connolly Parkway, Building 12, Suite 103, Hamden, CT 06514.

alumni news
| |
(Excerpts from The McLean Connection article on 12/18/12 by
Alex McVeigh entitled "Connecting Saxon Country, Past and Present")
"Langley will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2015, and a full-on renovation of the school is scheduled to break ground in 2014 and will take approximately two years. 'Our goal is to build the alumni community, so people will feel a strong connection to this school, and the students that have come after them,' said Colleen Orme, a Langley alumni who lives in Great Falls. 'This is an exciting beginning for a formal alumni association, a way to bring together Langley's past with its present, all in anticipation of the school's 50th anniversary.' Betsy Shomaker, president of the Langley PTSA, said she is looking forward to seeing the new association engage with Langley graduates of all ages. Chris Bass, vice president of the association, Langley alum, and current faculty member, says the new association is an exciting way to engage graduates."
